It will be fully transposed into Danish law by <strong>August 18, 2025<\/strong>, the date on which the old directive officially expires. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4c2d6ba elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4c2d6ba\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Who is affected?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-26c8698 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"26c8698\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>All <strong>manufacturers and importers of batteries<\/strong> who place products on the market in Denmark &#8211; even without a Danish branch &#8211; will in future be subject to extended producer responsibility (EPR). Foreign companies must appoint an <strong>authorized representative in Denmark<\/strong>. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d879ce1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d879ce1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What exactly do companies need to do?\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a4dee4c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a4dee4c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The following obligations will apply from <strong>August 18, 2025<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Registration<\/strong> in the Danish producer register, including volume planning for 2025 and 2026 and information on battery composition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Organization of take-back and recycling of<\/strong> all battery types.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Annual reporting<\/strong> on quantities placed on the market and recycled &#8211; including transparency and inspection obligations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New battery categories according to the regulation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Portable batteries (\u2264 5 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Batteries for light vehicles (LMT, \u2264 25 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Industrial batteries (IND1, IND2)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Batteries for electric vehicles (&gt; 25 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Starter, light and ignition batteries (SLI)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fa64a5f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fa64a5f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Take-back systems &amp; organizations\n\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ec00444 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ec00444\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For <strong>portable and LMT batteries<\/strong>, membership of a recognized producer organization (e.g. <em>Batteriretur<\/em>) is <strong>mandatory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For industrial batteries, EV batteries and SLI batteries, participation is <strong>voluntary<\/strong>, but take-back and reporting obligations must also be fulfilled here.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f80e37a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f80e37a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Important deadlines\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d54c123 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d54c123\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The regulation has officially been in force <strong>since February 18, 2024<\/strong>. National implementation is underway and the first obligations already apply &#8211; for example regarding registration and responsibility for take-back systems. <\/p>\n<p>The regulation will come into full application <strong>on August 18, 2025<\/strong>. From this date, companies must fully comply with the new requirements, including registration in new battery categories and compliance with stricter environmental requirements <\/p>\n<p>The registration phase in the Danish producer register will also <strong>begin on August 18, 2025<\/strong>.
