products in the future.<\/p><p data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1863\">This creates new regulatory requirements for companies that <strong data-start=\"1562\" data-end=\"1625\">sell textiles in California or export them there<\/strong>. It is therefore particularly important for internationally active manufacturers and online retailers to understand the upcoming obligations at an early stage and set up appropriate compliance structure of the law is based on well-known <strong>EPR systems from Europe<\/strong>, for example for packaging or electrical appliances.<\/p><p>Implementation will take place in several stages over definition follows the usual principles of <strong>Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)<\/strong>.<\/p><p>As a rule, the obligated manufacturer is:<\/p><ol><li><strong>  Trademark owner<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>The brand owner, which <strong>sells<\/strong> textile products <strong>under its own brand in California<\/strong>, is considered the primarily responsible manufacturer.<\/p><ol start=\"2\"><li><strong>  Importer or distributor<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>If the trademark owner <strong>is not based in the USA<\/strong>, the <span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><em>importer<\/em> or <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">distributor <\/span>is typically regarded as the obligated manufacturer.<\/p><p>This is particularly <strong>relevant<\/strong> for <strong>European brands and online retailers<\/strong> whose products are sold via US importers or platforms in California.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
