Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)<\/strong> is an EU regulation with the aim of harmonizing packaging more closely and promoting the circular economy.<\/p><p><strong>Central elements are:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Requirements for <strong>recyclability and design-for-recycling<\/strong><\/li><li>Specifications for <strong>reducing packaging volume and empty space<\/strong><\/li><li>Introduction of <strong>reuse and reusable quotas<\/strong> (especially in the transportation sector)<\/li><li>EU-wide <strong>labeling systems<\/strong><\/li><li>Stricter requirements for <strong>data availability and transparency<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><em>Important: Even if further implementing acts follow, the basic requirements are already set today. not automatically replace the national EPR systems<\/strong>.<\/p><p>This means that<br>companies must continue to fulfill the following obligations, depending on the country:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Registration with national authorities or registers<\/strong><\/li><li>Participation in <strong>take-back systems<\/strong><\/li><li>Payment of <strong>EPR fees<\/strong><\/li><li>Compliance with national reporting obligations<\/li><\/ul><p>The specific obligation depends on who is considered a <strong>producer <\/strong>in the respective
